Recognising Ramanujan

The Vision

Undoubtedly the greatest mathematician that India has produced, Srinivasa Ramanujan’s work deeply inspires us at the Mathematical Sciences Foundation. To celebrate the rich legacy and to identify torchbearers who can carry that legacy forward, we conceptualised the Recognising Ramanujan competition for schoolchildren going to middle school.

The competition is modelled on problems inspired by the work started by Srinivasa Ramanujan and complementary innovative ideas which have helped us to identify young math lovers who wish to explore the fascinating world of research and innovations related to mathematics and computers.

The Launch

Recognising Ramanujan is an annual mathematical competition organised by the Foundation to seek out young minds whose thought processes are aligned and focused towards the efforts required in the field of research in mathematical sciences along with the uses of modern technology in mathematics.

Inaugural edition of Recognising Ramanujan was launched on 20th December 2019 at the S D Public School, Pitampura Delhi and the first edition took place on 27th January, 2019.
