Terms of Service

Effective 26 May 2026

These terms cover how you can use this website. By visiting the site, registering an account, or sending us a message through it, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. We're the Mathematical Sciences Foundation, a charitable and educational society registered in India in 2002 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Throughout this page we'll refer to ourselves as “MSF”, “we”, or “us”.

Who can use the site

Anyone can read the public pages. To create an account you need to be at least 13 years old (in India), 16 if you're in the EU or UK, or older where local law requires it. If you're under those ages and want to use account features, please ask a parent or guardian to register on your behalf. You're responsible for keeping your password safe, and for what happens on your account.

What you can do

You're welcome to:

  • Read, link to, and share anything we publish here.
  • Register an account to receive updates and join activities we offer.
  • Write to us through the contact form for genuine questions about our work.

What you can't do

Please don't:

  • Use the site to do anything unlawful, hateful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Scrape the site, hit it with bots, or try to extract our database. If you're a researcher and want a copy of something, just ask us.
  • Probe for vulnerabilities, attempt to bypass authentication, or interfere with the running of the site. Responsible disclosure is welcome: please write to us first.
  • Submit content that isn't yours to submit, or that you don't want us to read and store.
  • Use the site or its content to train AI models or build a derivative product without our written permission.

If you do any of these we may suspend or close your account and remove the content, with or without notice depending on how serious it is.

Your content

You keep ownership of anything you submit through the site: your contact messages, your profile, anything you upload. By submitting it you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and use that content for the limited purpose of running the site, replying to you, and operating the programmes you've signed up for. We won't use your content for marketing without asking you first.

Our content

The pages, text, images, code, and design on this site belong to MSF or our contributors, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may read and share links freely. For any other reuse, please ask. Quoting short extracts for academic or journalistic purposes, with a clear credit and link back, is fine without asking.

Accounts and removal

You can ask us to close your account and delete the data associated with it at any time through the contact page. We may close an account ourselves if it breaks these terms, if it's been used to abuse the site, or if we have to for legal reasons. If we close your account, we'll do our best to tell you why, unless we can't for legal reasons.

Things outside our control

We do our best to keep the site running and the information on it accurate, but we don't promise it will always work, and we don't guarantee that everything published here is free of errors. The site is provided on an “as is” basis. To the extent the law allows, MSF and the people working with us aren't liable for losses you suffer from using or relying on the site, including loss of data, opportunity, or earnings. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under Indian law.

Links to other sites

The site links to plenty of other places, like publications on external journals, partner institutions, and videos hosted by YouTube. We don't control those sites and we're not responsible for what's on them. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you visit.

Privacy

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. By using the site you agree to it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page, and for changes that affect your account we'll try to give you a heads-up before they take effect. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that we can't resolve amicably will be heard by the courts of New Delhi.
